Once I restore to the pre-guest-additions install, the desktop is back to normal (except for obvious things like being unable to access the shared directory). It also seems to flicker a bit, but I think that goes away.Ĭontrol-alt-T does not bring up a terminal window and alt-F2 does not bring up a 'run' command. When I ‘insert guest additions CD’, things seem to run smoothly, but when I restart the VM I get a blank desktop - no icons, folders, launcher, etc.
I recently upgraded to Virtulbox 6.0 and ever since I have not been able to get guest additions to work. Ubuntu 1604 -18.zip (34.54 KiB) Downloaded 12 timesI have had a stable Ubuntu 16.04 guest for several years (Win 7 host).
